MATTIE P. WHITLEY

February 26, 1930 – February 13, 2026

Mattie Pearce Whitley, 95, of Zebulon, passed away Friday morning at Wake Med.

Mattie was the daughter of the late Joe and Florence Perry Pearce. She was preceded in death by her, husband, Joe Whitley; daughter, Janet Phelan; grandchildren, Tracey Jovino and Matt Whitley; brother, Joe Lee Pearce; sisters, Helen Leonard, Mary Wilson, and Florine Johnson.

Mattie is survived by her daughter, Joyce Stallings; sons and daughters-in-law, David and Lynn Whitley; D.L. and Wanda Whitley; Jerry Whitley; grandchildren, Lisa Medlin, Cristy Pendergraft, Kelly Clark, Sandy Taylor, Jeff Whitley, Timmy Whitley, Tiffany Hofeling and Tara Carson; 16-great-grandchildren Austin and Aidan Medlin, Weslyn Pendergraft, Andrew and Emily Clark, Jeffrey Jovino, Ava and Blake Taylor, Jessie Whitley, Lacy Foster, Taylor Whitley, Myriam, Tabitha and John Hofeling, Archer and Jack Carson ; 3 great great-grandchildren Paislee, Waylon and Collin.

The family will receive friends 2 – 3 pm Monday, February 16th  with the funeral service to follow at 3 pm at Bethlehem Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
