It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Charles Edward Ray, surrounded by his loving family. He is the son of the late Charles Waddell Ray and Liza Tant Ray.

He is survived by his wife Cathy B. Ray, sons Michael Charles Ray of Wilmington, and Jackson Charles Ray (Cassidy Fuller) of Pilot, sisters Barbara Jo Ray of Houston, TX, Jane R. Throughout his life, he dedicated himself to the noble profession of farming, nurturing the land. His commitment to agriculture was not only a means of livelihood but a genuine passion.

In addition to his farming endeavors, he also ran a country store that was the heart and soul of the community. With a warm smile and a welcoming spirit, he created a space where neighbors would gather, exchange stories & ability to bring people together. Later working in logistics at Edwards, Inc.

But beyond his professional achievements, it was his character that truly set him apart. He possessed an unwavering kindness that touched the lives of those who crossed his path.
